CNC machining aluminum parts are becoming an excellent choice for many industries. As one of the most popular materials, aluminum has excellent mechanical properties. When it comes to machining materials, aluminum machined parts are the most economical because they can be CNC machined for less time than other metals. Aluminum processed products also add strength, corrosion resistance and rust resistance.

In addition, aluminum-machined parts are chemically resistant, electrically conductive, malleable, and have high strength. Today, CNC machining aluminum parts are widely used in automotive, aerospace, military, medical and industrial engineering. These parts require precision, and Yunyan is also one of the reliable factories for precision CNC machining of aluminum parts in China.

Product design evolves rapidly, and product developers shift their focus from mass production to low-volume manufacturing. Small batches of CNC aluminum parts play a vital role in the product process, so our deep understanding of special CNC aluminum machining requirements and state-of-the-art equipment helps us achieve this.

  1. CNC Aluminum Processing Service

Precision CNC Milling: We are equipped with a variety of milling machines, including 3-axis and 5-axis, which facilitate the production of precision machined CNC parts.

Turning: We also have a turning machine in-house. In addition, other machining operations such as knurling, drilling, EDM, etc. are available.

  1. Advantages of CNC machining aluminum in small batches

No mold investment: Die-casting molds usually cost more, and CNC machining can save a lot of startup costs and ultimately reduce financial risk.

Short lead time: Usually it takes at least 30 days to build the mold, but CNC machining helps shorten the time-to-market and can also help customers get a head start on the market.

Higher precision: CNC machining has better tolerances compared to cast parts, if you need precision parts then CNC machining will be more suitable.

Better surface finish: Vision parts can often be CNC machined because the surface is really great even without any post finish.

More post-processing available: With the aid of CNC machined aluminum parts, almost any type of secondary processing can be used, whether anodizing, powder coating, e-coating, or chromatin.

  1. Commonly used aluminum alloy grades

Aluminum 6061: One of the most popular aluminum due to its excellent mechanical properties and weldability, easy to anodize. Aluminum 6061 also has good toughness, moderate to high strength, excellent corrosion resistance in harsh environments, easy anodization and good processability, so it is also commonly used in extrusion.

Aluminum 7075: Aluminum 6075 is another popular aluminum grade after 6061 and is known for its excellent fatigue strength, it is most commonly used in tough components such as aircraft wings and fuselages, bicycle parts, and rock climbing equipment. AL7075 is also widely used in automotive reflectors due to its better polishing properties. This alloy has better corrosion resistance than aluminum 2000 alloy.

Aluminum 2024: This grade is widely used in aerospace and military applications due to its high fatigue resistance, high strength and sensitivity to thermal shock.

Aluminum 5052: Mainly used for sheet metal processing, construction machinery parts, and assemblies used in saltwater environments. Aluminum 5052 resists marine, saltwater and industrial environments well. This grade is easy to punch, bend and cut into the desired shape.

Aluminum 6063: This grade has excellent mechanical properties such as ease of weldability, heat treatability and durability. This grade is often used to create complex shapes with smooth surfaces and is often used in applications such as door frames, window frames, sign frames, roofs, and more.

The above materials are our regular grades, more options are available upon request.

  1. Post-processing of aluminum

Anodizing: This is an electrolytic passivation process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts, and the parts can be anodized in any color upon request, except AL7075, AL6061 is better anodized.

Powder Coating: Powder is sprayed onto the surface of a part in the presence of an electrostatic field and then cured at high temperature to form a protective layer. The biggest difference between powder coatings and baked topcoats is the quality of the topcoat. Baking paint may runny, with brushstrokes or spray patterns. Powder coatings never runny and are always even and even.

E-coating: When using e-coating, the substrate is immersed in a bath that may consist of paint, epoxy, or other water-based solution. The particles suspended in the liquid solution are then attracted using an electric current and deposited onto the surface of the substrate. Electrodeposition will continue until the desired coating thickness level is reached, which can be controlled by increasing or decreasing the voltage level.
